The BAUHAUS Experience

Back in 2012 I had the incredible opportunity to visit the most influential school of Design disciplines, the BAUHAUS. The German institution invited me to give a lecture for their Master of Arts in Integrated Design program. The lecture was in my professional area of specialization as Creative/Art Director and Broadcast Designer.

"This MAID program (Master of Arts in Integrated Design) incorporates the essential design disciplines with the creative subjects of communication design, product design, space, audiovisual and digital media. They are brought together through rigorous fundamental training and interdisciplinary problem solving. These integrative components form the contour of the Master program."

I focused my intervention in the design process, on what I named “The Process of Conceptualization in Motion Graphics”, discussing a general view of the way of thinking design in motion, where does the design starts and where does it lands in time.

I had a wonderful experience with a very attentive international class, who were very responsive to the creative conversation and the visual material I showed as support. A special thanks to a good friend and extraordinaire Design Director Alejandro Lecuna for making this a reality. Vielen Dank... meine freunde!

The Bauhaus style became one of the most influential currents in Modern Design, with a profound influence upon subsequent developments in art, architecture, graphic design, interior design, industrial design and typography. Some outstanding artist from the Bauhaus are Walter Gropious, Paul Klee, Wassily Kandinsky and Piet Mondrian.
